You distribute the 4/6 and it'll be (4/6x)+4/6*12=10

Distribute the denominator on the left side firt.

[tex] \frac{4}{6x+72} = 10[/tex]

Multiply by "6x+72" on both sides.

[tex]4 = 60x+720 [/tex]

Simplify.

[tex]60x = -716
[tex]x = -\frac{716}{60} [/tex]
[tex]x = -\frac{179}{15} [/tex]
